     FOR A MOMENT…..imagine yourself living in a hut, in a village of hundreds of people far across the world from where you are. This village that has no clean water to cook with or to drink, to wash yourself and your children, or—no clean water to clean anything.

     FOR A MOMENT…..imagine yourself walking for miles carrying a bucket to get water—any water—from creeks or rivers that people use to wash themselves, clean their clothes, where people and animals drink—and defecate. Then imagine yourself taking that same bucket filled with that contaminated water back to your village to use for cooking, cleaning and sanitation. Because there is no clean potable water in or near this village.

     FOR A MOMENT…..imagine yourself without toilets, without means to protect yourself or your family from deadly malaria brought on by swarms of mosquitos.

     FOR A MOMENT…..imagine your children going to a makeshift school with a leaky roof and sitting on a dirt floor while trying to learn—if a teacher was even available to teach them. Imagine yourself and your children, rarely having an opportunity to become educated or having an opportunity to gain skills for job opportunities.

HERE’S WHO WE ARE

The REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND is a 2009 Michigan public charitable non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax deductible under section 170 of the code. The REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.

HERE’S WHAT WE DO

REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND provides financial support, guidance, innovative programs, and materials in partnership with a non-profit organization, THE CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL JUSTICE (CEDASJ) (also known as THE CENTRE) in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. Why do we provide funds? The REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND has created a PARTNERSHIP ACROSS THE WORLD to improve the life of impoverished villagers in remote areas of Benue State, Nigeria.

The REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND, a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization, is guided by its Board of Directors. Since there is no paid staff, all funds except for necessary expenses, go directly to support our charitable projects, improving the lives of people in isolated, remote villages in Benue State Nigeria through THE CENTRE.
