Our Impact

Because of its wonderful volunteers, supporters, and donations, THE REV. SIMEON’S COMMUNITY FUND and THE CENTRE have helped thousands of Benue State Nigerians live better, healthier lives!

REV. SIMEON FUND IS INCREDIBLY PROUD TO HAVE:

  • DUG several water wells that provide clean water the first time ever in remote villages
  • PROVIDED villagers with instructions on the importance of sanitation
  • DISTRIBUTED mosquito nets to pregnant and nursing mothers to help prevent malaria
  • SPONSORED scholarships for school fees to orphans who otherwise would never experience an education
  • RENOVATED buildings for classrooms to educate children
  • PROVIDED educational materials and school supplies
  • SUPPLEMENTED teachers’ pay to encourage teachers to teach in these hard-to-reach schools in remote areas
  • DONATED playground equipment—previously, children had nothing to play with or on
  • DONATED sports equipment, jerseys, and bicycles to encourage teamwork and exercise
  • DISTRIBUTED backpacks to students for school and personal supplies
  • DISTRIBUTED expandable sandals that allow feet to grow
  • PROVIDED shoes and socks for students—most never had them before
  • RENOVATED a building to house THE CENTRE, providing yearly office space, utilities and equipment for THE CENTRE’S staff and volunteers, and classrooms for teaching job skills including sewing, candle making, and computer skills to women and at-risk youth

OUR WISH LIST FOR FUTURE PROJECTS INCLUDES:

  • Purchasing and installing computers and networking for students to obtain technical skills and learn about the world
  • Providing a local medical clinic where villagers can receive medical attention without “walking” miles for help
  • Renovating additional, much-needed classrooms for RCM Primary School Kohov. Your generosity has improved the school environment so much that the student enrollment has more than doubled in just two years!

Donations are always greatly appreciated!
